Easy Hacks For A Better Gaming Experience Part One
Playing video games is a great way to unwind, blow off steam, keep your brain sharp and stay young at heart. It’s also easy to forget that we should take care of ourselves while we’re slaying the dragon, saving the princess or wiping out zombies. I’ve got some easy hacks to keep us at the top of our own game while we play. These tips can also apply to anyone who works a desk job!
1. Drink plenty of water. It will keep you hydrated and alert while you play. Dehydration can lead to headaches and nobody wants that during an important raid night! I keep a big insulated cup filled with water with me at all times!

2. Take breaks. Make sure you’re getting up and moving around at least every one to one and 1/2 hours of play time. Take a bathroom break, refill your drink, stretch, wrestle with the dog. Just give yourself about five minutes of something other than sitting to keep your body feeling great!
While you’re up…
3. Snack wisely. There are plenty of tasty, healthy snack options that are especially easy to eat while gaming. Grab some nuts, fruits, veggies, seeds, whole grain crackers topped with hummus or a little bit of cheese (I’m not scared of cheese in moderation!) to keep you energized. If I feel like I need something a bit more decadent one of my favorites is a Triscuit® topped with a thin slice of mozzarella cheese and a turkey pepperoni. Yum!
