Legendary Fitness For Very Little Gold
If you’re anything like me then you probably don’t like to spend your money, eh, I mean gold, more than you have to. While getting into fitness can seem like an expensive venture, it certainly doesn’t have to be. With a little research and creativity, you can buff up your avatar for next to nothing. In some cases, nothing at all. That’s right, not one cent!
Here are three ways to level up that bod and save big on your workouts:
The Great Outdoors
Where does every great dragon slayer do all of his or her best work? Outside of course. Maybe in a cave too but that still counts. There are so many ways to get fit just by lacing up those sneakers or hiking boots and getting outside. Go for a brisk walk or jog. Find your closest nature trails. Use a park bench for push-ups and triceps dips, step-ups, ab exercises and stretching. Many neighborhood parks offer outdoor fitness zones to make it easy to get in your toning after your walk or jog. Bonus points: Look for ways to change up the terrain with hills for a bigger calorie burning boost!
The Home Gym
What do you do if the weather isn’t cooperating for that outside workout? Keep it in house! Exercising at home is the easiest way to get fit and avoid excuses that keep you from working out. It’s raining… stay under your own roof. There’s too much traffic… You don’t have to go anywhere! An easy and inexpensive way to setup a home gym is to shop at yard sales, second hand shops or online for used weights and cardio equipment. Let’s face it, so many people start the year with that new treadmill only to begin using it dry their favorite concert t-shirts after a couple of months. You can save big when they’re ready to clean house. One of my favorite ways to workout at home is YouTube. Yep that’s right, YouTube. There are countless fitness instructors posting workout videos there and the variety is endless. I use Chromecast to cast my favorite workouts to my TV and get moving.
The Actual Gym
If you’re the type of warrior who likes to get out of the castle and have the largest variety of equipment at hand, then a gym membership may be best for you. Before you commit, shop around. Most gyms will give a free trial so you can get in and test it out before you sign-up. Select several gyms in your area to try and you could end up with a good month or so of free workouts before starting the monthly payments. This will give you the chance to pick your favorite based on location, features and benefits and friendliness of staff so you know you’ve made the right choice. And don’t think you need the mega gyms to get the best results. I have gyms in my area for as low as $10 bucks a month with no contract that have everything you need to get ripped. That’s a pretty good deal!
Well there you have it, three ways to save big and get in great shape. Before you know it you’ll be slaying dragons and your abs and you’ll still be able to afford that legendary new sword you’ve got your eye on! Stay fit healthy geeks!
