Level Up Your Morning To Level Up Your Day
Q: What is the number one, numero uno, best thing you can do to level up your day?
A: Workout in the morning!
That’s right. I know, I know… it’s hard to say farewell to our snuggly beds. Especially before the sun is even up. But I promise you, it is worth it. Here are my top three reasons I make myself get up and get moving.
1. It levels up my metabolism. When we workout, our metabolism increases. What’s better than first thing in the morning! This will rev up your energy level and keep your avatar fired up to burn more calories through the rest of your day. Uh… yes please!
2. It levels up my mood. I’ve gone through phases where I workout in the morning and phases where I don’t. I can tell you, when I am working out first thing, my mood is so much better the rest of the day. My endorphins are flowing and I feel great physically and mentally too!
3. It levels up my to-do list. Yeah, that one sounds weird at first but hear me out… It’s all about excuses. We can have the best intentions to exercise after work or on our lunch break and then it just never happens. Why? Because all that pesky life stuff starts piling up and we feel tired or overwhelmed and then we skip it. My daily to-do list is quite long as it is even without throwing in the surprises. Putting my workout (i.e. myself) at the top of my to-do list ensures that it will get done! Then I’ll feel awesome and kick some butt on the rest of my list!
Bonus tip: There’s one more thing that will probably level up when you’re working out and that’s your appetite. Make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated. And, make sure you have lots of healthy meals and snack options handy. You wanna feed those muscles with good stuff! 🙂
So, give it a go. What have you got to lose? Start small with just a quick 10 to 15-minute workout. Gradually roll back that alarm clock every week or two and increase the exercise time as you go. Before you know it, after about three weeks you will look forward to getting up and taking this time for yourself.
If all else fails, ask yourself… What would Batman do?
