Miranda’s Spiced Mixed Nuts
Ahhh, snacks! Whether we’re gaming, on the go, or watching our favorite movie, a yummy snack always seems to make it more enjoyable.
Keeping it healthy and tasty is the best way to go and you can’t go wrong with my Spiced Nuts! They’re sweet and savory, crunchy and satisfying. You could say I’m nuts about nuts!
This recipe quickly became a family favorite. I simply tweaked the recipe from the back of the McCormick® allspice bottle to make it a bit more to my liking.
You can experiment with different spices as well. Do you like a little spice added to your sweet and savory? Just add a 1/4 teaspoon of cayanne pepper and you’ll kick them up a notch quite nicely!
Grab a handful and enjoy!
Miranda’s Spiced Nuts
1 egg white beaten until frothy
3 1/2 cups unsalted mixed nuts of your choice (I like pecans and walnuts)
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Nonstick cooking spray
Gently stir the nuts into the beaten egg.
In a separate bowl mix together the sugar, cinnamon, allspice and sea salt. Pour over nuts and mix until all are well coated.
Spread an even layer onto a large baking sheet lightly coated in nonstick cooking spray.
Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring once at the 30 minute mark.
Tip: Use foil or parchment paper to keep the nuts from sticking and for easier cleanup! 😀
Bonus tip: These also make great gifts for friends and family. Grab some fun dollar store containers and gift away!
